Every cat has their own personality, but one thing’s for sure—care needs change as they grow. At Cambridge Cat Sitting Company, we’ve looked after cats at every stage of life, from curious kittens to wise old souls. Here’s how those needs evolve over time, and how we adapt our visits to suit.
Kitten (0–12 months)
Kittens are bundles of energy and curiosity. They’re learning about the world—and how to interact with it - so playtime is essential. Visits often involve:
- Frequent, smaller meals
- Short bursts of high-energy play
- Gentle handling to build confidence
- Keeping an eye on safety (because kittens will climb into anything)
Adult Cat (1–7 years)
Adult cats often have established routines, which we aim to keep consistent while you’re away. Most enjoy a balance of play, rest, and quiet companionship. We focus on:
- Maintaining feeding and play routines
- Grooming, if they enjoy it
- Enrichment activities to keep them mentally stimulated
- Tailoring visits to their personality - whether they’re chatty or reserved
Senior Cat (8+ years)
Older cats may be less active, but they still benefit from gentle play and social interaction. They might also need extra care for health conditions. Senior visits can include:
- Special diets or feeding support
- Administering medication if needed
- Gentle grooming
- Making sure they’re comfortable and warm
Our approach?
Whatever their age, we meet each cat where they are - adapting our visits so they feel secure, happy, and cared for.
