Our Values

At Cambridge Cat Sitting, our approach is shaped by what matters most to us - and to the cats we care for. These core values guide every visit, every cuddle, and every pawprint we leave behind.

Kind, Personal, Cat Care

Every cat is different – and we truly celebrate that. Whether they’re shy, playful, chatty or independent, we take the time to understand their unique personality and gently tailor each visit to what they need to feel safe, relaxed, and loved.

Trust & Reliability

We know how much it means to leave your beloved cat (and home) in someone else’s hands. That’s why we always show up when we say we will, communicate clearly, and care for your space with the same respect and attention we give your cat.

Calm, Low-Stress Experiences

We believe cats are happiest in their own familiar environment - and our role is to keep things as calm and consistent as possible while you're away. From quiet company to playtime or medication, we provide comfort without disruption.

The Founders

Laura, Co-Partner

Laura is the founder of Cambridge Cat Sitting, bringing with her a lifelong love of animals and a calm, intuitive approach to thoughtful, personalised feline care. Her journey began in Milan, where as a child she helped care for her neighbour’s elegant black cat, Duchessa – a gentle routine that quickly became a true and lasting passion. From those early days, Laura has been devoted to understanding and caring for cats in a way that helps them feel safe, seen, understood, and truly at home.

After 22 and a half years working as a school librarian in one of Cambridge’s independent schools, Laura stepped down in July 2025 to dedicate more time to the business. Alongside running the business, she also works as a receptionist at the Cambridge Cat Clinic, strengthening her insight into feline wellbeing in both domestic and clinical contexts.

Sarah, Co-Partner

Sarah joined Cambridge Cat Sitting after more than a decade of pet sitting, rescue work, and hands-on animal care.

Her love for animals began in childhood and has only deepened - with a home full of rescued cats, pugs, a rabbit, and even a chicken, along with a garden that’s home to her beloved beehives.

Since 2016, she has fostered over 70 cats through Cats Protection, offering each one the time, space, and love they need to thrive. With warmth, experience, and a deep understanding of animals, Sarah brings a gentle, dependable presence to every visit.

Customer Testimonial

Laura looked after our 10-month old kitten this weekend and it was faultless from start to finish. We were so worried to leave him at first, but Laura put us at ease and sent us updates on how he was doing, along with photos and videos which we loved. He was a happy boy when we got home who’d had lots of playtime and attention!

Everything we asked for in relation to his feeding and water was done perfectlyand the house was clean and tidy (which is usually rare with a naughty kitten around!).

I cannot recommend them highly enough, so professional and reliable, and clearly with a huge love for cats! We can’t wait to use them again for our next trip (and I’m sure our kitten agrees!).
